NSG Environmental Ltd is delighted to announce its support of the Centre for Leadership Performance’s Dream Placement programme for the third consecutive year.

For this year’s programme, NSG will welcome A-level student and aspiring project manager Michael Chapman from Barrow Sixth Form College. During his Placement Week, Michael will spend a day at NSG’s head office in Chorley, where he will interview NSG’s managing director Jim Porter and learn about project management, before moving to the Low Level Waste Repository in West Cumbria and shadowing members of the NSG site team. Whilst there, Michael will be given a project to complete and will work closely with NSG’s site project manager and engineers; a rare opportunity to experience the day-to-day workings of a nuclear licenced site first hand.
The Placement Week follows on from the Selection Event in December and Development Day in January, where students joined forces with representatives from companies hosting the placements to take part in team-building exercises, learn about workplace behaviour and discover how to gain maximum benefit from the experience.

Lesley Wood, HR Officer and Dream Placement representative for NSG, commented:
We look forward to welcoming Michael on the 20th of February and have an interesting and informative week planned for him. The feedback we have received from our previous placement students has been really positive and we have also benefitted greatly from our involvement in Dream Placement over the last three years.
Michael’s Dream Placement will conclude at the Showcase Event at Energus in Workington on the 24th of March, where Michael, Lesley and the rest of the participating students and company representatives will get back together to discuss their Dream Placement experiences.
