NIS Group Commits to Women in Nuclear
NSG Environmental Ltd, NIS Ltd and Hold Engineering Ltd (HEL) have shown their continued commitment to Women in Nuclear (WiN) UK by signing the WiN Industry Charter for gender balance in the UK nuclear industry.
NIS Group directors signing the WiN Industry Charter
WiN UK was formed in early 2014 with a mission to address the industry’s gender balance, improve the representation of women in leadership and to engage with the public on nuclear issues. By signing the charter, NSG, NIS and HEL have pledged to:
- Acknowledge that the nuclear sector cannot reach its full potential without maximising the talents of all.
- Acknowledge that advancing equality and inclusivity demands commitment and action from all levels of the organisation and in particular active leadership from those in senior roles.
- Commit to identifying and removing the obstacles faced by women and other underrepresented groups.
- Commit to prioritise action to remove barriers to flexible working across the nuclear industry for all types of work and at all levels.
Gill Marsden, Director at NIS, commented:
Having worked in the nuclear industry for almost thirty years, I am all too aware of just how male-dominated our industry has been, and how great the challenge is to create a more balanced and diverse workforce for the future. We have been active supporters of WiN since its conception and we will continue to do whatever we can to assist in attracting and retaining women in this exciting and rewarding industry.
