NSG Support World of Work Event at Whitehaven School
NSG were delighted to be able to support the World of Work event held at Whitehaven School on the 27th of February. The event was run by ‘Inspira’, an award-winning, national social enterprise company based in Cumbria, and included three ‘speed dating’ style activities during which, year 9 students were given the opportunity to ask questions about the areas of work that delegates were in and what skills and qualifications were required for their role.
The day was supported by Gareth Wilson, Senior Project Engineer, and Laura Horne, Stakeholder Manager, together with personnel from a broad range of industries and backgrounds. The School Management and staff were delighted with the event as a whole and reported that their students were really engaged and enthused by the activities. Comments from the students included: “I had a great day and now know what I want to be” and “the majority of events were enjoyable and the speed dating was very beneficial.”
NSG look forward to supporting Inspira with future events.
