NSG has been providing Decommissioning, Waste Management and Health Physics services for more than 25 years. In this time we have gained a unique understanding of radiation protection and radioactive waste management from working on many waste retrieval, processing, remediation and disposal contracts.

 

The Health Physics service offered by NSG encompasses the complete project lifecycle:-

  • Project Management
  • RPA Consultancy
  • Health Physics support including instrument selection, procurement and operation
  • Setting up and controlling of radiologically designated areas.
  • Preparation and management of documentation including Radiological Risk Assessments, BPM's, HAZOP's, Waste Management Plans, Local Rules, EA Licensing Submissions etc.
  • Site Surveys - Physical and Radiological


We have provided Radiological Protection services to numerous Magnox Nuclear Power stations, AWE Aldermaston, MOD sites and various private establishments. We have experience working with radionuclide's (alpha & beta gamma) including Radium, Thorium, Uranium, Plutonium, Tritium and provide services such as barrier access management and control, dosimetry management, dose assessments, provision of PPE/RPE (together with inspection and repair) and monitoring instrumentation. We also provide RPA and RPS support to other contacting organisations on site.

Additionally, although not a radionuclide, NSG has extensive experience in working with, controlling and disposal of Beryllium.
