Partners
One of NSG's overriding principles is the development of strong and lasting relationships for the mutual benefit of all parties. Whether working closely with our clients, or providing a key role in alliances, NSG have always recognised the importance of collaborative working. Collaboration at NSG means making the best use of individual's core skills and competencies within a framework and maximising the benefits for all partners, whether client, supplier or alliance member. We have done this on a number of occasions through the formal channels of framework agreements, which establish long term arrangements where both we and our client can develop an understanding of each other's strengths and requirements, so that appropriate work can be placed to make the most of our respective skills.

We enjoyed a framework with Magnox Electric for over ten years and subsequently Project Services and now VT Nuclear, which enabled us to support the nuclear waste development programme and provide a rapid response to site services opportunities. Similarly at AWE we have supported a number of refurbishment programmes under a framework arrangement, which allows a number of different contract models, yet provides a quick and cost effective response when required. Both these frameworks relied initially on strong contractual arrangements, but as time progresses a mutual respect and understanding develops which leads to trust on both sides. With trust comes responsibility and NSG takes our responsibility seriously in working with all our partners. As you browse through our web site you will see many testimonials from our partners that demonstrate their trust was well founded.
We often work alongside our competitors and have had a long standing, successful relationship with BNS (formerly Alstec) in decommissioning works for AWE at Cardiff and Aldermaston. Whilst both these projects were run on a Prime/subcontractor basis on both occasions they developed into a partnership arrangement, whereby issues were discussed openly and honestly without resorting to the contract. This form of working led to mutual trust where the 'subcontractor' was treated as being an essential part of the delivery team and whose views and ideas were taken on board to the benefit of the project.
Last but not least, being part of an engineering group enhances our capability tremendously. In NIS Ltd we have a very strong partner who complements our capability with the supply of design and manufacturing expertise. We have been a member of the NIS Group of Companies since 1993 and have worked together on a number of different projects throughout that period.
